Following fifteen years of training in the UK with multiple academic awards, a first prize winner of the Duke Elder national prize in Ophthalmology and specialist training in renowned eye centres, Dr Aristodemou has been offering specialist ophthalmic services in Limassol and Nicosia, since his return to Cyprus in 2011.
His sub-specialty expertise encompasses three areas: (1) Surgical Management of Macular and Retinal Disease (2) Medical Management of Macular and Retinal Disease and (3) Complex/High Risk and Premium Cataract surgery, including optimizing refractive outcomes and using Toric and Multifocal intraocular lens implants.
Dr Aristodemou has extensive surgical and medical experience in managing complex retinal disease, including recalcitrant neovascular age-related macular degeneration, advanced diabetic eye disease, and high risk rhegmatogenous and tractional retinal detachments.
He as an active research record at the University of Bristol and he is an invited member of the IOL Power Club (iolpowerclub.org), an exclusive international group of experts on refractive outcomes in cataract surgery. Dr Aristodemou has multiple publications in high impact scientific journals with more than 800 citations.

In May 2011, we opened our first clinic in Limassol, followed by a clinic in Nicosia in 2016. During this time, more that 18000 new patients have been examined and thousands of eye operations have been performed.
In collaboration with three colleagues from the UK, we are publishing the largest reported study on refractive outcomes of cataract surgery. Data was provided by the National Ophthalmology Database of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
